The Top Driver of Employee Retention Is Meaning

A survey conducted by Strawberry Frog and Dynata found that meaning is the most influential factor for US workers in wanting to stay at their job. 70% of those surveyed say they've become more focused on work with meaning since the pandemic, and Gen Z/Millennial workers are more likely to view work differently.

23% of those surveyed are energized by their job, 32% are unfulfilled, 30% are checked out, and 15% are fed up. The report was based on data from a survey of 1,252 US workers in August 2023.

These findings suggest that employers should focus on providing meaning and purpose in the workplace to retain workers and keep them engaged.
