How CEOs Feel About CMOs

Boathouse Inc. surveyed 150 CEOs at US companies with 100+ employees to determine how they view their CMOs performance and leadership qualities.

26% of CEOs gave their CMO an A grade, with 73% saying CMOs are bold and 45% trusting their CMO as a top tier leader. However, only 10% say their CMO puts the CEO's needs first.

CEOs value their CMO's understanding of the business and performance-mindedness, but may not see them as selfless. The survey was conducted in September and October 2023 by Boathouse Inc.
