Five years ago, executives rarely sought personal branding services, but now they're a necessity in an ever-intensifying job market. Nearly 8.7 million Americans will have lost their jobs by the end of 2021, and the average job search takes five months. Candidates must stand out above the pack to be successful, and personal branding helps them do that. It increases the perceived value of the individual, and leads to greater career satisfaction and employability.

Personal branding should be unique to the individual and not focused around their employer. The individual needs to make it clear what they have to offer, and why it's valuable. Additionally, they should include all their accomplishments in the narrative to make it clear why they are the best candidate.

Personal branding offers credibility and visibility, which in turn generates more and better opportunities. Now is the time to start developing a personal brand to make yourself stand out in the job market.
