Reaching customers online today often requires a social media team. Companies must consider goals, needs, expertise, resources, and budget when deciding between an internal hire, agency partner, consultant, or freelance partner.

Internal hires have brand knowledge and are dedicated, but may be limited in skillset and require additional costs and time for training and compliance. Agencies bring fresh ideas and high levels of creativity, but companies may have limited control over the work quality. Consultants and freelancers are flexible and accessible, but may not provide access to tools and may become spread thin.

The best solution for a company depends on their specific goals and needs, as well as the available resources and budget.
