Most Americans are concerned about the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on jobs and society, yet only 16% have used text-based or visual generative AI systems. Ipsos conducted a survey of 1,008 US adults to find that 39% view AI favorably, while 43% view it unfavorably. 53% think it's the responsibility of companies to limit the risks of AI, however only 25% trust them to do so.
In a separate survey of 1,117 US adults, most were comfortable with AI tasks like analysing data, but not with tasks like creating likenesses of humans. 55% think AI will be another piece of technology, whereas 36% think it will fundamentally change American society.
Though there are mixed opinions on AI and its potential impacts, the Ipsos survey provides an interesting view of the public's feelings on this growing technology.
