Engineers find datasheets, case studies, and whitepapers very useful when making purchasing decisions. According to research from TREW Marketing and GlobalSpec, 73%, 41%, and 40% of respondents, respectively, found each source very valuable.

Engineers tend to access technical content via web forms and prefer professional community networks to social networks when seeking information. When industry conferences and tradeshows have been canceled due to the pandemic, they turn to supplier/vendor websites for information and networking.

The research was based on data from 1,361 engineers and technical professionals from a diverse set of industries.
