More and more startups and other tech providers are offering brands the ability to use generative AI to create unique marketing emails tailored to individual recipients. Bulk cold email outreach and phishing emails would benefit from using generative AI. Most likely outcomes include economic, technological, and legislative deterrents.

Generative AI would be unlikely to be used for permission-based promotional marketing emails as most marketers want to control their brand image. Also, most of the personalization criteria wouldn't have significant marketing results. Lastly, the cost-benefit ratio for using generative AI is too high.

Inbox providers will incorporate more AI detection tools and authentication will likely be given significantly greater weight. Government involvement is necessary to combat spam and phishing emails. Generative AI may be the catalyst to end bulk cold email outreach.
