One factor marketers can be certain of this year is continued uncertainty, from inflation at a 40-year high to layoffs and slowed growth. Poor communication is hindering their ability to meet their goals, and it costs US businesses up to $1.2 trillion every year. To overcome their toughest challenges this year, marketers must deliver frictionless, authentic brand and customer experiences and lift productivity and consistency with a new workplace experience.

Defining objectives and outcomes, rethinking and setting clear expectations, empowering and aligning diverse teams, taking a scalable approach to upskilling, and curating investments with a focus on augmentation are five steps to improve organizational communication. AI technologies that augment communication and help teams use the right terms, style, and tone can be a first step to improving connections.

It's time for marketers to reinvent their organizations by communicating clearly and consistently. Doing so reduces slowdowns, enhances the customer experience, and drives the ability to scale. Re-envisioning communication to connect, engage, and get work done in new ways will be the greatest determinant of success in a changing landscape.
