Marketers must adapt to higher user sensitivity towards consent, transparency, and value exchange as AI becomes a primary commerce interface. Retailers are expanding into AI-led commerce, but risk losing data ownership and brand control as purchases occur within third-party AI platforms.

Yahoo launches Scout, an AI-powered answer engine using user data and an entity knowledge graph. This adds to the competition for attention above the click. Marketers should prepare for multi-engine optimization and new shopping surfaces where "best answer" dynamics can override brand preference.
